Desert Detectors Tier List – Ranking The Shovels

If you want to find all the buried treasure under the sand, you’ll need the right tools for it. Having the best detector known to man is one thing, but if your shovel isn’t up to scratch you’ve got a long tedious dig to look forward to. That’s why we’ve put together a Desert Detectors tier list, ranking our favorite, and less favorite shovels.

Desert Detectors Tier List

Our tier list runs from the best shovels at the very top, down to the less useful shovels at the bottom. Try a page search if you’re looking for a specific one! Tier lists are subjective, so if a shovel we ranked low works for you, that’s fine!

The GOAT

The game’s best shovel at the time we checked, the best stats that will make your excavations super easy.

S Tier

Extremely good shovels, even if they’re not quite the absolute top of the pyramid. They’re excellent at what they do, and definitely worth your investment.

• Seraded Shovel
• Soul Shovel
• Core Shovel

A Tier

Very good shovels. These will help you rack up a lot of good discoveries quickly, and make the upgrade money you need.

• Steel Skull Shovel
• Strange Shovel
• Glowy Green Shovel

B Tier

Midgame Shovels. These are a solid choice, though nothing terrible special. They’re a stepping stone in your upgrade process, but you probably won’t keep them around forever.

• Gold Shovel
• Obsidian Shovel
• Ringed Shovel

C Tier

Early game shovels. These are an upgrade on the very basic shovels, but they don’t offer much beyond that.

D Tier

Super basic shovels. These don’t have a lot to offer, aside from letting you earn money to buy a better shovel. So you should probably just do that.
